Chicagoland Colt/Palomino Baseball League Rules (revised 4/5/11)
Fields: Home team provides a maintained field for each home game.
Visiting team has infield practice 15 minutes prior to each game.
Pitcher's mound to home plate 60'6''; bases 90'.
Equipment: Home team provides 4 high-quality baseballs for each game.
Bats can be no more than 2 3/4" in diameter & be a -3 dro
Re-schedules: Notify opposing team and agree on date and time.
Notify league and umpires.
If teams cannot decide on a new date, cannot provide a field,
or a manager is difficult to contact, upon notification,
the league will arbitrarily reschedule the game.
Cancellations: Notify opposing team, league and umpires ASAP.
Standings: E-mail your scores and pitchers innings (win or lose) to:
midwaybaseball@aol.com. The standings will be updated on
www.midwaybaseball.com weekly.
Umpires: Home team provides 2 umpires, no matter where the game is played.
Game will not start without at least one umpire.
Rosters/Proof of Age: Completed rosters will be emailed to the league for review
and the league will email each team a copy No players may be added
after the season begins unless the league approves.
At the request of the opposing team, umpires, or league official
all teams will have available at every game proof of age of all players.
Such as a birth certificate or drivers license.
Protests: 1) Protest must be announced to the umpire and opposing manager
at the time of infraction and noted in the scorebooks of both
teams.
2) Notify your league official.
3) After the game, the protest committee will consist of
the league director, the rules director, and
a official from another league not involved in the protest.
Forfeit: There will be an allowance of 15 minute show up from the scheduled start
time of the game. Games cannot start with less than 9 players.
However, in case of injury during the game, the game
can be completed with 8 players. If a player is ejected,
and only 8 players remain, this is a forfeit.
Games can never be played with 7 players.
Scorebooks: Verify the score with opposing team between each inning.
Batting order must have players number, first & last name
and all subs listed.
Pitching innings must be recorded in scorebook.
Both managers and an umpire must sign each scorebook after the game.
No Collision Rule: This is a no collision rule.
Options are sliding, returning to previous base
or going around the fielder.
Runner must always be within the baseline.
(see separate expanded collision rule)
Courtesy Runner: There can be a courtesy runner (optional) for the catcher only.
Pitching: Pitchers may not pitch more than 7 innings in a calendar day.
Pitchers may not pitch more than 14 innings in a calendar week.
Calendar week is from Monday to Sunday.
40 hour rest after 4 or more innings pitched.
Complete game: Game is complete with a 10 run lead after 5 complete innings or
4 1/2 innings if home team is leading. Same for rain,
however games called for darkness will be suspended and continued.
Line-up: Option-1 9 batter/re-entry
Option-2 10 batter,1 extra batter/re-entry
Option-3 continuous batting order, all players present
Which ever option chosen, that’s the way the entire game is played
Both teams do not have to use the same option.
Re-entry Rule: Any player in the starting line-up who has been removed by substitution,
may re-enter the game.
The player must re-enter in their original position in the line-up.
Substitutes may not re-enter the game once removed.
Pitchers removed from pitching may return to the line-up,
but may not pitch again in the game.
Sub-players: Teams may call up Pony level players from their home league
to substitute if they foresee a shortage of players.
Subs must wear their Pony uniform,
bat at the bottom of the order, and cannot pitch.
They may play only to avoid forfeit. If a team
has 9 or more regular players show up, the sub may play
2 defensive innings and bat once in appreciation for his time.
Players on loan: If a team is short players at game time, the opposing team
MAY lend players to that team. The player on loan
must remain with that team for the entire game.
This game will count in the standings.
Ejection: Players and Coaches ejected from a game will be
suspended for the next scheduled game.
Play-offs: All teams must play at least 50% of their regular season games
to make the play-offs, which will be single elimination

Both teams split the umpire fees, not to exceed $50 per umpire.
Batting option-1, 9 batter/re-entry must be used.
Championship: One game Championship played at highest seeds home field.
